Donate blood at church event Give a precious gift by donating blood at a


community blood drive held by Faith Family Church and the American Red Cross. The free event will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., June 16 at 11530 E. Queen Creek Rd. in Chandler. The goal is to donate 100 pints of blood, as just one


pint can help hundreds of patients. Donors must be at least 16 years old and bring identification. Before giving blood, donors should eat healthy and drink plenty of water or juice. It takes less than 10 minutes to draw blood.

CCC hosts Bible school Change in teen program time


Children can learn about God’s extraordinary plans


for their lives at Xtraordinary vacation Bible school at Chandler Christian Church, 1825 S. Alma School Rd. in Chandler. The event, which takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sun., June 3 to Wed., June 6, will include stories, crafts, games and snacks. The event is for children from 4 years old to the sixth grade and the cost is $5 per child or $10 for multiple children. Parents are also needed to volunteer in the VBS, and can sign up online. S.H.E., or Sisterhood of Havurat Emet. The group will hold its general membership meeting at 7 p.m. Sun., June 3 at the home of Linda Brooks in Cottonwood. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s Phoenix regional representative, Gary Marcus, will be the speaker.


Nonmembers are welcome to attend this meeting.
