Each year, the incoming president for the Soroptimist

International of the San Tans comes up with a theme for her year leading the service organization. This year, President Chris Stage of Ocotillo came up with “Dancing in the Rain,” saying “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass … it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” Installing officer and past president Marian Norris

gave all the incoming board members a coaster with a photo of Gene Kelly from “Singing in the Rain” as a reminder of their duties for the coming 2012-13 year, and the installation of officers included plenty of water-related gifts and puns, including an umbrella for Stage, and a note for President-Elect Judy Register who will be learning to “take over the ‘rains.’” Other officers include Treasurer Lynn Gilreath;

Recording Secretary Beverly Truett; Corresponding Secretary Jana Greene; Director Luisa Bonillas; Director Patty Dorsey; and Director/Past President Deborah Arteaga.
