composed of 45 churches with a total membership of 8,206. These churches are located in Arizona, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas. The Sun Lakes Church

The first in this series is scheduled for Wednesday, June 27, in the church conference room from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. The book is entitled Joshua in the Holy Land written by Joseph Girzone. In the book, Joshua has come home, but home is no more peaceful than it was during his time. It falls to Joshua to lead his followers to peace in this world and the next. Copies of the book may be purchased during the fellowship time following worship. The congregation invites the


community to participate in the various activities of the church and worship on Sundays at 11:15 a.m. in the Sun Lakes Chapel located across the street from the Sun Lakes Country Club.


First Baptist offers summer Bible enrichment classes


First Baptist is pleased to announce its


summer schedule for Sunday Bible study. There will be a large class taught


by rotating teachers and a smaller class taught by one or two teachers. Both classes will be teaching from the Lifeway quarterly curriculum. Lifeway is a provider of Christian books and Bible study material. In addition, there will be a discipleship


training feature involving two six-week courses. Beginning Sunday, June 3, Kyle Guss will be teaching a six-week class entitled Abide in Christ. On Sunday, June 15, Pastor Marc Drake will begin teaching a six-week class entitled Pray in Faith. Please join us every Sunday morning


at 8:30 a.m. for one of these great classes. You will enjoy the friendliness, the fellowship and the blessing of our Lord!


The Sun Lakes United Church of Christ receives a “Thank You” citation from the United Church Council for supporting their five major Mission objectives in 2011. Richard Stanford, Ruth Brandy and John Young display the recognition certificate to the congregation.


Need to beat the heat? Think summer Focus


Gail Jones All ladies are welcome to join our


Women’s FOCUS ministry, which will continue to meet during the summer months. June 5 and 19 will conclude our Bible


Study on “Lies Women’s Believe” by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. Pamela Drake facilitates these sessions. There will be a new study beginning in July for the summer months.


June 12 will be Ministry FOCUS in action


and June 26 Friendship FOCUS with a movie (bring a snack). Women’s Ministry meets every Tuesday


morning 9:30-11:00 in the Christian Life Center of First Baptist Church on the southwest corner of Dobson and Riggs Rds. For more information on our summer
