T

he final weekend of the season saw no fewer than

five Garston Ladies FC teams taking part in cup finals and, although only two came home with trophies, Garston are still celebrating the most successful season in the club‘s history. At the top of the pile are the

Under 10s who travelled to Letchworth on Sunday, May 13, to take on neighbours Kings Langley Belles in the Herts FA County Cup final. The girls dominated through-

out and after two first half goals from Libby Poster, a 3-0 victory was sealed by a Nicole Brimble strike after the break. The Under 10s have also been

crowned Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League champions and still have the League Cup final to play for. The Under 14 Diamonds se-

cured the league title at the end of April and were one of four GLFC teams competing in the League Cup and Shield finals day at Harvesters FC on Satur- day, May 12. Despite being on top for most of the game, the girls‘ efforts in the Shield final were undone by a Barnet Az- zurri goal in extra-time. With the County Cup already

in the GLFC trophy cabinet, the Under 14 Mets claimed the

League runners-up spot after drawing with rivals Bishops Stortford in their penultimate league match. The two teams met again in the League Cup final and after another tight game Stortford came out on top as the Mets also suffered the heartbreak of extra-time defeat. The Under 11 Mets claimed

the HGFPL League Cup after a 1-0 win over Enfield Town La- dies. A Trixi Robinson-Tuckey goal midway through the se- cond half gave the Mets the lead and a battling display from the girls saw the Mets hold on for the win. The win went a long way

towards making up for the dis- appointment of failing to win the League by just one point. The Under 12s were pushed all the way in their League title

chase by Berkhamsted Raiders but clinched the top spot after a 7-0 win over Croxley Guild to win promotion to the top flight. As the dust settles on this

amazing season, Garston La- dies FC are the proud winners of two County Cups, three League Championships and one League Cup, and can also claim two League runners-up spots and four defeated cup finalists. With the Under 10s League Cup final still to come Garston are guaranteed an astonishing 13 honours. The club‘s presentation even-

ing on June 17 promises to be a massive celebration. For more about the club, visit
