FINE ART PREVIEW This complete understanding of the tempo
and cadences of the human body comes from two distinct areas of Fabian’s life. One is his own musicianship which is hugely important to him and connects with his artwork on a profound level. The other is his dedication to karate and the philosophy it embodies of identifying the essence of an individual and communicating that central vital spark on the canvas. Fabian has always brought his own
personality and history into his paintings, and these whirling women in their scarlet dresses form a sultry celebration of the intoxicating world of his childhood.

DANCER IN RED WITH WHITE
Hand Embellished Canvas Edition of 195 Size 9”x 12” FRAMED £460
The flamenco is a dance which carries with it history, passion and high emotion. In recent years it has become one of the most celebrated tourist attractions in Andalusia, and this has meant that its origins are often forgotten. When Fabian was a child, the flamenco represented something completely different: it was traditionally the dance of the poor and the oppressed - a makeshift and living thing. The music could be provided simply by the clapping of hands, and the steps were passed down from father to son and from mother to daughter. It is a dance with a story to tell, and as such is a fitting subject for Fabian’s expressive narrative style. The key element in any dance is of course rhythm and this is another reason why Fabian is such a uniquely brilliant exponent of the dance portrait. There is a constant presence of rhythm pervading every one of his images, regardless of whether the subject is dancing or simply smoking on a balcony.
