This is a basic training in restoring health and wellness through the hands. KHT includes the reflexology level of treatment, similar in concept to the reflexology of the foot. KHT is practiced by a diverse group of health care professionals throughout the world. Current practitioners include acupuncturists, medical doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, nurses, nurse practitioners, massage therapists, and laypersons. Text books are available in many languages. Each of the professions finds their unique way to combine KHT within the scope of their practice and style of working.
Laypersons usually confine their study to the beginning levels of KHT. This level of knowledge allows them to treat themselves and their family members in order to remedy simpler problems and to maintain good health. Several hundred thousand lay persons in Korea and elsewhere practice self and family treatment.
