Message from the council T
HE town council is delighted that this sixth edition of the guide proves the success of this joint enterprise between ourselves and the Teignmouth News. Inside its covers is a wealth of
information about our lovely town and all the wonderful services provided by our local shops and businesses. Visitors to the town are always delighted with the individual character of its smaller shops and the excellent food served in its cafes and restaurants.
Local people too are fully aware of the cost savings by shopping in the town and although parking is a problem in the high season, with the cost of petrol it’s still cheaper to stay local nowadays. Excellent service is provided by local
professional offices, solicitors, finance consultants, estate agents, printers, photographers to name but a few. Of course, the ultimate asset to our community is its voluntary groups that encourage people to get together with shared hobbies and those special
volunteers who consistently raise money for local charities. These groups are too numerous to mention in the space for this article but browse our website to find out more. And, if your group or business is not on it, then let us know the details. The facilities on the seafront are second to none with people coming from near and far with their children to enjoy the play park and mini golf. We are also proud of the special events that take place each year – the jazz festival, the carnival and regatta and the folk festival, plus all the many individual performance arts and musical entertainments that take place in the Triangles during the summer months. We have a wonderful film club which meets at the Community College Arts Centre and the Teignmouth Players based at the Carlton Theatre put on excellent shows and competitions for all ages.
Teignmouth and make our town your base for business, shopping and entertainment.
