SPRING 2012
The Finest Rapeseed Oil
BELL & LOXTON’s award-winning cold pressed rapeseed oil is grown, pressed and bottled on their
farm in south Devon... a delicious, healthy alternative to other culinary oils; naturally rich in omega 3, 6 and 9 and has less than half the saturated fat of olive oil. Grown and bottled in the heart of the county, Bell & Loxton’s rapeseed oil also has far fewer food miles than its Mediterranean counterparts. The Bells have been farming at Upton Barton, Kingsbridge, for the past 40 years. This is a family business which is run from the family farm. Jonathan has a degree in agriculture and has
worked in farming for the past 20 years. His love of food and his passion for good quality natural products has led him to develop Bell & Loxton’s cold pressed rapeseed oil. It is perfect for dressings, dips and mayonnaise and with its high burn temperature it makes it ideal for stir fries and roasting. Jonathan is also a keen environmentalist so the idea of a home-grown product that tasted as good as its Mediterranean counterpart, was also healthier and more versatile, was irresistible.
Truly Divine
TRULY TREATS are based in Teignmouth and produce a
wide range of homemade cakes and sweet treats. They’re wholesome and delicious, if just a little bit naughty. You can sample their produce at local farmers’ markets and food events. They also cater for the wholesale market. Apart from traditional favourites like rich fruit
cake or coffee and walnut cake, they produce a contemporary range too, whoopie pies and rocky road to name a few. Truly Treats also make cupcakes for corporate events, weddings and themed parties. Truly Treats believe
it’s really important to support local producers; they source as many ingredients as possible from within the West Country and are members of Food and Drink Devon.
