5-7 & 11-13 MAY SIX DAYS OF ART TeignArtists is a co-operative group that aims to run art events localised around the Teign Valley. Visual artists and makers from the region have joined in an effort to give the public friendly and enriching experiences throughout the year. This year we will be running a small cafe, proceeds from which will go to charity. The show will feature the best work from all the artists on the trail, hung in what must be one of the most pleasant and lovely exhibition spaces in the county. More details at

7 MAY DRAWING HALDON’S BIRDS A unique workshop drawing birds in Haldon Forest. Mike Langham has worked for the RSPB for many years and his bird illustrations can be seen on nearly every RSPB reserve. A full time bird illustrator since 1992, Mike has been published in more than 32 books and is a voluntary Art Editor for the Devon Bird Watching and Preservation Society. During the walk, he will be encouraging people to sketch from life quickly and effectively and will show the group how to capture the character and shape of the birds with confidence.

GOOD FOOD MARKET Royal William Yard, Plymouth The first ever Royal William Good Food Market will launch on bank holiday Monday, featuring some of the best food suppliers in Devon and Cornwall. It will be on The Green with around 30 stalls taking part, many of whom are fantastic local River Cottage Deli suppliers from Cornwall and Devon. The food will be high quality and locally sourced. Fresh local produce from the Tamar Valley, will be delivered by boat into the basin by SailTrade and Tamar Grow Local and sold on the quay on the day. The market is being organised by the people behind the highly popular Totnes Good Food Sunday. Come along and enjoy - everyone is welcome!
