You would, of course, expect me to say this, but the success of the inaugural Database Marketing Awards last year really took me and the team that work on the magazine and the website by surprise. We were well aware that there was an appetite for a programme that recognised and rewarded excellence in this often neglected sector of ours – to be honest, it wasn’t even our idea to launch awards: they only came about after numerous suggestions from readers, advertisers and other industry colleagues. But even so, the success really was beyond anything we could have anticipated. Consequently, we have had no hesitations in committing to doing it all over again this year, but this time around with the hand brake off. I’m delighted to say that we already have a number of Partners who have already confirmed their involvement – great industry names like Callcredit Marketing Solutions, Neolane, RAPP and Abacus, and we’re confident that a few more will be joining that list over the next few weeks and months. With that confidence driving us on, we’re anticipating an even better and even bigger extravaganza this September as we aim to go one better than than last year. I hope that many of you will be along for the ride and I hope to see many of you on September 19th.
