SS WORLD RESP

The legends of Native peoples offer an unparalleled gateway to cultural understanding, and this tale about compassion, kindness, and respect for others and the natural world is no exception. At this time of ecological crisis, it is all the more compelling. The Aboriginal performers of Kaha:wi blend the high standards of modern theater with traditional Native dance and inspiring music drawn from Iroquoian social songs in Native languages. Beautiful costumes, magical scenery, and gentle storytelling round out an ingenious performance about a people who have inhabited our region for centuries, and whose culture continues to thrive today. Links to Indigenous cultures and languages, natural world, oral tradition, symbolism, respect, and traditional arts. VT Stan.: 1.9, 4.6, 5.19, 6.5.
