Shakespeare’s most contentious couple negotiate the terms of their contract and their respective roles and responsibilities in this powerful comedy, discovering that underneath their wisecracks, wit, and verbal sparring hides unexpected love and mutual admiration. From its earliest productions at the Globe to Cole Porter’s musical Kiss Me Kate, to the modern retelling 10 Things I Hate About You, the Bard’s highly relevant battle of the sexes has been adapted with each generation. The acclaimed Aquila Theatre breathes fresh life into the timeless tale with their inventive and skillful reimagining. Relates to Shakespeare, gender relations, and theater.
