SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY The Copthorne Tara Hotel played host to the KCTMO Senior Citizens’ Annual party on 26 January. More than 200 residents enjoyed a three course meal and entertainment by Pearl Queen singing cockney classics and house band Serenade, who played and sang songs that kept residents dancing until it was time to go. HILDA SPREADS CHEER AT CREMORNE’S 60TH Hilda Keane is a resident of 36 years at Cremorne Estate, but this year she’s been busy spreading cheer by honouring residents who’ve been there since


GARDENS COMPETITION 2012 It’s that time of year again! We’re on the lookout for garden-loving residents to take part in the annual Gardens Competition. The competition has been running 32 years and this year we’ve got trophies and garden centre prizes across fi ve categories: Gardens, Balconies / Window Boxes, Patios, Estates, Kitchen garden. Cremorne was built 60 years ago. The 84-year-old secured donations from surrounding businesses including fl owers, wine and chocolates and delivered the gifts to nine residents who’ve been there since the beginning. Very neighbourly!


REPAIRS WORKSHOPS We were pleased that 12 residents came along to our Basic Repairs workshop on 6 March 2012. Residents were able to ‘have a go’ at each of the demonstrations given, including replacing tap washers, unblocking sinks; taking out u-bends and cleaning them; replacing missing tiles, fi lling in cracks; wall-papering and painting. Thanks to Morrison for working with us to run these events.
