Cirrus Research, an expert in noise measurement, has launched its 2012 ‘Noise in Action’ photography competition to help raisemoney for its 2012 charity of choice, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Cirrus Research is looking for interesting, unusual and imaginative images of ‘Noise in Action’. This could be anything froma Cirrus Research product being used in an obscure or picturesque place, to a photograph creatively illustrating noise, noise measurement or the impact of noise. All the
images will be entered into a draw and a final twelve will then be selected to feature in the Cirrus Research 2013 charity calendar which will be on sale fromthe end of October. All funds raised will be donated to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. The twelve winning images will appear in the 2013 charity calendar with the winning image featuring on the front page. Skanem goes to India
SkanemGroup has partneredwith the Indian labelling company Interlabels in order to take part in a growingmarket in SouthAsia, buying 51 per cent of the shares in the company.Owner andCEO of Skanem,Ole Rugland, says: ”India is a marketwith a great potential and rapid consumption growth. Smurfit Kappa UK has achieved one of the UK’s highest recorded scores in its first independently auditedWorkplace Conditions Assessment, scoring 99 per cent against theWorkplace Performance Index. The two-day assessment was carried out at Smurfit Kappa Stalybridge by independent auditors reporting to Smurfit Kappa’s customer Astra Zeneca as part of its
Responsible Procurement Programme. The 99 per cent score, says the company, was the highest the auditor had given in his 40- year history. The appraisal covered labour relations, working conditions (including wages and hours), health and safety, quality, management systems, environmental impact and business practices.
