“My goal is to give each and every woman a memory, a moment, a cherished image that they can look back on every day they skip that mirror and remember just how gorgeous they really are.” ~Angela Yodice

As the owner of WhirlieGirl Photography, Angela Yodice spe-

cializes in boudoir and pin-up photography for women of all ages, shapes and creeds. She is an advocate for positive body image – something she feels is lacking in our society.

“When I see the joy, the tears, and the self-esteem boost that my services provide to women, it’s an amazing feeling… and that’s why I do what I do.”

THE STATS: Age: 36 Current City: Cape Coral Birthplace: New York Education: Briarcliff College (NY) for graphic design / Southwest Florida College for degrees in graphic design, business management and marketing Employer: Owner / Photographer, at WhirlieGirl Photography

Hobbies: My hobbies are vast and almost always creative: drawing charcoal portraits, making candles and soap, and singing. I actually made it through to the regional competitions this coming July in Tampa for TalentQuest Florida!

Personal Life: I own a home with my boyfriend of seven years and my 13-year-old son, two dogs, one cat, and a ton of saltwater fi sh!

Three words that describe me: Motivated. Humorous. Relatable.

What’s your favorite food and favorite place to get it? I can no longer get my favorite food because it was made by my grandmother who passed away eight years ago. I’m a New York- raised Italian, and the best place that I’ve found down here for my old-school eats is Ariani’s on Del Prado Blvd. in Cape Coral. Mangia Bene!

If a movie were to be made about your life, which celebrity would play you? Drew Barrymore! In my youth I was often told that I re- sembled her - although I’m not sure if that’s really true! She’s got my spirit, my sense of humor and the same spunk; always quick for a laugh, but on point when she needs to be.

You have the opportunity to travel one place anywhere in the world free of charge. Where would you go? Scotland. You don’t need to ask me twice!

www.whirliegirlphotography.com Pulse Magazine SWFL | 19 As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I played softball for 13 years and if I could have made a career out of it, I would have. However, I had been coming to Florida for vacations since the age of seven, and I remember what attracted me the most were the tremendous billboards. I knew even then that I wanted to make something that big one day... and that’s why I went to school for design! I still run my own design business, however now most of my design clients are photographers or artists, especially since I’m mainly focused on photography.

When you’re not working, what’s your favorite thing to do in SW Florida? As much as I dedicate myself to work, I am more dedicated to my family. We usually try to cater to my son, so that includes trips to Sun Splash Water Park, the local beaches, Mike Greenwell’s and other places. We’re currently planning a visit to the Naples Zoo, which we’ve talked about going to but haven’t been to yet!

What’s your favorite thing about living in SWFL? Least favorite? My favorite thing about living here is the warm weather. My least favorite thing (besides black widow spiders) is that I don’t live near my family anymore.

What’s next for you? I see no limits for myself in the future. Although I provide a niche service, I don’t limit myself to only boudoir. I also have many pho- tography sessions for newborns, children, maternity and couples. Boudoir is a service that is not a specialty of many photographers in the SWFL region, and I see great things ahead for my company. I trust that my passion, strong belief in a positive body image, and my mission to provide change for the women of SWFL will open many doors and encourage those around me to care as I do.
