A taste of South America

The March meeting of the Wimborne Wine Society saw Stuart Warnock’s first presentation. He introduced the group to six wines from Argentina and Chile, as well as putting together a quiz and wine crossword. Opinions varied greatly around the room about the best wine but everyone agreed that it was a great evening.

Helping the

visually impaired

Sarah Duncan and Geraldine Bradley from the Bournemouth Visually Handicapped Society (BSVI), were guests at a recent meeting of the Ringwood and Fordingbridge Club for the Blind.

Questions went on for

over half an hour and they’d brought plenty of aids for the members to play with, in particular the talking clocks and watches. There were also large button phones, and mobile phones which enlarge text messages. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at Greyfriars, Ringwood. Transport can be arranged.

Tea and cakes were served, followed by a lively ‘open discussion’ for members. Hand-made greetings cards and jewellery were for sale, plus books and bric-a-brac, and a raffle was drawn.
