Carnival Queen and Princesses chosen

Nineteen year old Naomi Larry was chosen as queen. She grew up and also works in Verwood. Her two princesses are Madison Storey (12)

and Jordan Groves (11). Both go to Emmanuel Middle School. The girls get to choose their own dresses

for the big day on Saturday, 30 June and will be called upon to perform various ceremonial duties throughout the coming year.

in with pes Hello all

Last month, we met a lovely group of people called the Tee Gees who perform shows around the county raising funds for local charities. They have raised thousands of pounds with over 1000 performances. Last year they kindly chose Woofability as their cause. We also had a wonderful

surprise when local singers Songshine chose us as their charity for the year. I am so excited I have always wanted to sing. In fact when we recently visited Ferndown Ladies WI, the ladies sang, ‘How Much is that Doggie in the Window?’ and guess what? Jet and I joined in! A few rehearsals and we will be singing along to Gilbert and Sullivan at the Hub in Verwood on Friday, 25 May. Tickets on sale. Please do come along and meet me and a few

others from the Woofability gang. We have a traditional Race

Night on Saturday 28 April at the Cobham Club at Merley and we are off to Wimborne St Giles on 27 May for afternoon tea and cakes (I shall be baking all day Saturday). I meet so many people

who say they follow my column and LOVE it as well as mags4dorset. I so want to meet more of you - do come along to some of the events and have a cuddle. Our contact numbers are 07818217183 and 01202 814643. bye4now,

your Magsie xXx

Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the Verwood Flower and Horticultural Show on Saturday 17 March such wonderful event. The beautiful floral displays combined with the baking art and craft all combined to make a lovely afternoon out. When combined with our regular Verwood Friday market we residents enjoyed the experience of a fast disappearing British way of life in our easily reached central Memorial Hall.

Thanks to all involved who worked so hard to put on these events.
