MAC was represented by 16 high school players from Lincoln and Central Catholic. Lincoln’s Sam Reid was seeded No. 1 in boys singles, and played like it in dominat- ing his first several matches. Reid then had to play his former U.S.A. Team doubles partner John Lindsay (Oregon City High School) in the semifinals. With several hundred spectators crammed into the Court 7-10 viewing areas, Sam and John put on a great show, each diving all over the court to make great digs. In game one, Reid was down 14-10 before coming back with a flurry of precision serves, pinches, and wide angle passes. John used his exceptional quickness to eventually overcome Sam 11-8 in a tiebreaker.

Reid and his doubles partner Elena Schaefer won the national championship in mixed doubles, while Reid and fellow MAC member Evan Czopek finished second in boys doubles.

Harris Rosendahl had a tremendous tourney, finishing fourth in boys No. 3

singles. Rosendahl and Carson Morford fin- ished second in boys No. 2 doubles, while Rosendahl and Stacey Abrams finished second in mixed doubles No. 2. Evan Czopek earned a hard fought first place finish in boys No. 2 red, to go along with his second place boys doubles finish with Reid. Rachel Wolfard showed why she was

Lincoln’s most improved player with a second place finish in a tough girls No. 2 division. Catherine Barton gave warning that she’ll be a force to be reckoned with next season with a third place finish in girls No. 4.

MAC members earning first or second place in consolation divisions included Alex Meyer (boys No. 5), Morford (boys No. 4) and Nate Chock (boys doubles No. 3).

Other MAC members who represented the club well were Central Catholic’s Max Rompa, and Lincoln High School players Andrew Locke Harris, Billy Dougherty, Alan Beard, Connor Cohn, Clayton Ross, Spencer Berger and Henry Booth. Thanks to all the MAC racquetball players who came out to watch the action. The support was fantastic. WM
