HEAVENLY EATS ADVERTISING FEATURE
Archangel F
rome’s most heavenly destination is the Archangel – a former coaching inn featuring a bar, lounge and restaurant, with a walled
garden and lavish rooms. A relaxed venue which welcomes
everyone, Archangel mixes urban zing with the building’s medieval and Georgian heritage to create an atmosphere like no other. Feel free to look around, use and
enjoy its many areas – from the snugs and lounges with big sofas and open fires, to the upstairs naval room and cosy library with more inviting sofas, to the spacious suntrap garden.

And of course, there is the restaurant.
The food standard is stellar, with menus featuring a confident handful of choices per course. As you would hope from its location on the food map, Archangel's dishes convey a clear emphasis on local and seasonal produce. Menus change daily, with starters
including duck and rabbit rillettes, garlic crostini, gooseberry relish and a duo of cured salmon, sweet mustard dressing and piquello peppers. Main options can include 8ozMendip
rib eye steak with garlic or truffle butter, shoestring fries and tomato fondue; pan fired duck breast with nutmeg mash, kale, pancetta, black pudding and
beetrootMadeira jus; and reassuringly, beer battered haddock fillet with hand cut chips, minted peas, tomato relish and tartare. An extensive vegetarian menu
provides plenty of temptation in the form of smoked pimento, potato and scallion tortilla, saffron, chive crème fraiche, micro salad. The roast organic spelt, cep mushrooms, wild garlic and fava bean risotto, with wild rocket and parmesan crumble provides a comforting favourite. Wicked diners will enjoy the desserts,
particularly the chocolate duo with cinnamon ice cream or the warm banana bread with honey, ginger ice cream and vanilla milkshake. As this is Cheddar
