whenever possible. However, I was completely oblivious to the amount of environmental damage I was still doing every single day.


Thankfully, a few years ago I had a conversation with a friend about vegetarianism. He was aghast that I hadn't considered the environmental effects of my meat-eating diet and, after some research, so was I.


We, as a culture, eat too much meat. The average UK citizen eats nearly twice as much meat as is considered healthy, which is both

unsustainable (due to the resources required to raise animals: food, water, land, medicine, machinery, etc.) and can increase one's risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer by at least 20 percent each.


The production of meat contributes more to global warming than all forms of transportation combined and is also a major factor in the current declining health of Brits.
