CHEDI MUSCAT REVEALS NEW OMAN WELLNESS SANCTUARY

Exhibiting for the 10th year at

Arabian Travel Market, The Chedi Muscat has unveiled its newly opened wellness sanctuary. ÓIn addition to enforcing our position as OmanÕs premier lifestyle destination, our primary focus will be on the hotelÕs newly opened wellness sanctuary which encompasses an award-winning spa, the longest infinity pool in the Middle East (measuring 103 metres in length) and a state- of-the-art health club that draws inspiration from a library,Ò said York Brandes, General Manager. The 4,000-square-metre Spa at The Chedi Muscat is the largest facility of its kind in the capital port city. ÓThis new, purpose-built facility redefines the spa, health and fitness experience on offer at The Chedi Muscat,Ò remarked Brandes. In addition to a health club, there are eight new private spa treatment rooms, separate menÕs and womenÕs steam and sauna areas and a relaxation lounge.

The Long Pool Cabanas will also offer cocktails and light, well- balanced meals inspired by Japanese and Malay cuisine. While The Spa is expecting steady traffic from its in-house guests, the hotel also plans to release a limited number of memberships. The Chedi Muscat also recently received two distin-

BUSINESS BOOMS FOR DUBAI CORAL ORIENTAL

DubaiÕs Coral Oriental hotel, managed by HMH, is reporting a healthy first quarter for business as the property returns to Arabian Travel Market for another year. According to Tony Homsi, General Manager at the Coral Oriental Dubai hotel, expecta- tions are that the bullish results for 2011 will be maintained well into the future as new markets open up and airline expansion feeds more traffic through Dubai. ÓWhile the 10 percent growth in visitor numbers into the city last year was largely attributed to the fall-out from the Arab Spring diverting both business

and holidaymakers to Dubai, this level of growth has now consolidated in 2012,Ò he said. ÓEmirates alone is launching services to eight new destina- tions this year, including cities in North and South America, as well as routes to Dublin, Barce- lona and Lisbon. It will also add capacity to markets such as India, Germany and Italy, while flydubai has announced its 50th destination, offering budget fares for visitors from the Middle East, India, Asia and Central and Eastern Europe,Ò he continued. Located in Deira, just 10 minutesÕ drive from Dubai

International Airport, the Coral Oriental offers 95 rooms and suites, a Mediterranean restaurant and cafŽ, business centre and boutique conf- erence room, valet parking and Wi-Fi, plus a free shuttle to nearby beach facilities. ÓWhile the recession intro- duced a dose of reality in to the hospitality sector in the emirate, the bounce back has been strong and sustained, with the realignment of hotel pricing opening up Dubai to a wider audience to the benefit of all involved in the tourism sector,Ò added Homsi.
