BE Personalized Treatments

Advances in stem cell research for example is leading some physiatrists to injections of degenerative disc disease. Stem cells are removed from the patient bone marrow and implanted into the spinal discs. The result is re- inflating the disc and restoring it and the related spinal structures to pain free motion.

Many Chiropractors use thermal imaging of the spine and or feet. Thermal imaging is an accepted technology used to aid in diagnosis of autonomic nervous interference of the spine or to measure foot movements as they relate to lower extremity involvement and spinal pain. This is a very specific technique for very specific treatment of back pain and offers quick recovery.

Many Strength Coaches, trainers or physical therapists are using a new low tech option designed by Gray Cook DPT to quickly and objectively measure functional movement. The Functional Movement System is a seven movement system designed to test the mobility and stability of the main joints of the body. The FMS quickly can show where a person lack either movement of stability and offer quick and effective stretches or exercises to correct the problem area. The FMS further scores the patient on a scale of 21 and provides a risk assessment for current pain issues or potential future issues due to aberrant movement of joints or muscles.

Technology has improved the understanding of how our body works. This has lead too many recent advances in how certain providers both diagnose and treat the most common symptom of pain. Fluoroscopy, pain nerve targeting medications, genetic testing and easy low cost treatments like Kinesiotaping are just examples of advances used today to diagnose and treat pain symptoms. Technology however can never bring prevention.

“Technology can only aid in early detection. There will never be a replacement for prevention.”

Prevention can only come from the use of knowledge on proper nutrition, proper exercise, rest, spiritual truth, and proper mental as well as emotional balance. Technology can never replace this. Our bodies were designed to be treated a certain way, the further we get away from this proper treatment the more physician treatment you will require.

A healthy life is dictated by a healthy lifestyle and balance of preventative techniques. Learning and practicing as much about natural and organic nutrition, physiological rest, spiritual pursuits of the Bible and church, mental balance and mediation and proper daily exercise will always be the best medicine
