In January 2011, I bought Sheba, a 6 year old, beautiful solid black Hunter / Jumper mare for my daughter, both seen in this adorable picture, meeting for 1st time. It was 2 days before a show, our stable manager called up to say he found Sheba, at her morning feeding trembling, sweating and in using a stethoscope, had found no abdominal sounds on either side. I arrived not 10 minutes later with a bottle of ECR, I had purchased a while back. As I entered her stall Sheba, collapsed, rolled, rose up, stretched out her front legs, began kicking with hind leg at her belly and my heart froze with fear, we would loose her! I held her, while Carl prepared and gave her a full dose of ECR, and as suggested, followed it with a full syringe of water. Just wanted to let you know about our 1st experience with ECR. On 10/20/2010, we had just finished our ranch sorting practice and


were checking on the horses in our barn at Cherry Creek Equestrian Center in Mt. Belvieu, TX. A 2 yr. old filly we have in training, was down in her stall. She didn’t seem to be able to get up, was sweating & in distress. We got her to her feet and listened for gut sounds but, she didn’t have any!
