It’s Show Time!!!!

Well Almost - the Suffolk Show Countdown Begins

This year’s Suffolk Show is gearing up to be one of the biggest and best in years. Due to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the half- term will be a week later than usual and the Show will take place on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th June at Trinity Park, Ipswich.

This year will see an increase in street theatre and music, sports and trade stands as well as some special guests and the return of some traditional favourites.

After his successful debut at the Show last year, Titan the Robot will be making a welcome return, while Olympic and Paralympic mascots, Wenlock and Mandeville, will be making special appearances at the Show.

This year the Suffolk Show is one of only 12 locations nationwide to play host to the Steve Redgrave endorsed ‘In the Zone’ interactive attraction, a touring exhibition that aims to engage people of all ages with the science of the human body in relation to sport and movement. You will find this at the extended Suffolk Sport village where 30 different sports will be showcased, including rugby, cricket, judo, hockey and cycling. The Suffolk Show will have more of a carnival atmosphere this year with more street theatre and music including the Ipswich Caribbean Steel Band, the Ipswich Hospital Band, the Jitterbugs, a 1940’s swing- dance group and Chapter Eight will be providing the music for the traditional first night concert. The Grand Ring will

once again host an awe- inspiring military display with Apache and Lynx helicopters putting on a show of force and grace. The ever popular Greene King ‘Eat Street’ will also be

full to the brim of local food companies, including several new exhibitors this year providing everything from doughnuts to noodles and even ostrich burgers. A new e-ticketing system has been created this year so that guests can download their tickets and print them off at home, meaning advance tickets can be bought right up until the day of the show at the discounted price. You can do this at www.suffolkshow.co.uk

Advance family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) cost just £40 and include the cost of parking. Other advance tickets are £18 for adults, £5.50 for children and £16 for senior citizens. On the day of the show, tickets can be purchased on the entry gate and will cost £20 for adults, £7 for children, £18 for senior citizens and the Special Family Pass at £43.
