“Thumbs up to the Hudson couple that won the
trophy at Dominoes. Your secret alliance is strong but the trophy will be brought back to Litchfield!”
“Thumbs down to the Century Lane family that has the constantly barking dog. Please invest in a bark collar.”
“Thumbs up - To trees! They shade our homes from the heat of the summer sun and protect our homes from the harsh cold winds of winter. Plant trees. Respect Earth Day.”
“Thumbs up - For these days filled with sunshine and light breezes. The perfect weather for quick drying laundry on the clothesline. The free, energy saving sun gives us clean, sweet smelling laundry. Homage to all that earth provides. Honor Earth Day!”
“Thumbs up to Legislative Law HB 1170 Allowing a estimated tax impact for every town
Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down? “We want to be your Mechanic”
August thanks for ruining my summer vacation. You’re not the NFL and if you think so, you need therapy. You know, some people only get time off in the summer and your practices start as soon as school ends. Is that even allowed by your Division?”
“Thumbs down to the comment about students drinking in France. First of all, the school did not allow the students to drink, it was their own choice. They were told in advance that they were not allowed to drink. Secondly, why target the French group? What about the groups of students who went to Spain and Germany? Huh?”
“Thumbs down to the church sign: ‘following
Jesus demands our all’ they got that right. Organized religion is full of demands and empty promises. Wake up lemmings. LLB”

and school warrant article to be listed on the town/school budget and special warrant articles. Residents will still need to vote this in. Thank you, Lee Lavoie, for notifying us of these changes.”
“Thumbs down to Campbell High School Football Team’s Practices through June, July, and
“Thumbs down! Brainwashing you will agree is a negative activity. Yet why do so many people brainwash their children with organized religion? Because their parents did so to them when they were children? Is the world a better place? I personally don’t believe religious values are what shapes or defines our country. Teach children about character, loyalty, honor and respect. Not fairy tales about Jonah living in the belly of a whale for 3 days. LLB”
“Thumbs down to the Alvirne and Campbell High School’s Football Programs. There is more and more evidence that even playing football for a couple of years leads to head trauma and lifelong problems. My own son who played 4 years is unable to focus, has depression, constant pain, and
now heart problems. Four glory years are not worth a lifetime of physical and mental pain, please pull your sons out of football before it’s too late.”
“Thumbs down to the crazy liberal blaming the shooting of the Greenland Police Chief on
republican tea partiers. Do you live under a rock? Outlaw guns and the only people that will have them will be criminals that do not care about any laws. How about we have harsher penalties for law breakers? Public
hangings if you murder a person? That might make
someone think twice. No, instead we put in jail (maybe) and feed, get them in shape and educate them… to come out and do it again. Wait, if weapons are the problem we might as well outlaw cars. They kill more

“Thumbs down to not teaching your daughter to do the right thing and confess when she makes a mistake. The whole team should not have been punished for her running her mouth. If she does the right thing, they will respect her more as a leader.”

“Thumbs down to the person who wants stricter gun control. The recent police deaths are tragic but so are the deaths of innocent victims of violent crime. Gun control only keeps honest people honest. The criminals don’t give a damn about your gun controls. Stop being naïve and stop trying to take my rights away. You can be a victim if you want but I am going down fighting. LLB”
“Thumbs down to the fake blond driver of the blue Yaris at 11:55 a.m. Saturday at Hannaford from the true blond driver - please go to a remedial driving class. You are the kind of driver who gives us blond women a bad name. You should not be making your own driving lane out of empty handicap parking spaces. No you didn’t hit me as you backed up but I sure wasn’t feeling warm
RESIDENTIAL COMMERCIAL ® Boys Tennis Splits
by Sue LaRoche The Alvirne boys tennis team won against Pinkerton but lost to Concord last week bringing their record to 2-4 on the season. Alvirne took a tough 5-4 defeat at the hands of Concord on Wednesday April 18. The Broncos had wins from three of their six singles players as PJ Martineau won 9-7 at number 3, KV Venuthurupalli won 8-6 at number 4 singles and Sid Moparthi won 8-5 at number 5 singles. Tyler Lambert lost a 9-8 tiebreaker at number six singles. Venuthurpalli and Moparthi teamed up at the number 3 doubles slot and won 8-3 to give Alvirne their fourth
victory of the day. On Friday, April 20, Alvirne defeated Pinkerton 6-3 on the road. Matt O’Brien won at number 1 singles 8-1 and PJ Martineau KV Venuthurpalli and Sid Moparthi won in their third, fourth and fifth singles positions to give Alvirne a 4-2 edge going into doubles. The number 1 doubles team of Matt O’Brien and Travis Terrio won 8-6 and Sid Moparthi and Tyler Lambert won at number 3 doubles sewing up the victory for the Broncos. Alvirne Girls Tennis Can’t Find the Win Column
by Sue LaRoche The young and inexperienced Alvirne girls’ tennis team is making improvements but not quite enough to earn them a team victory this season. On Wednesday, April 18, the Broncos traveled to Concord and suffered a 6-3 loss. Yashaswani Moparthi won in the number 2 slot 8-3, while Dominique Kaempf had her first victory of the season in the number 6 slot with an 8-6 victory. Moparthi and Lahari Venuthurupalli teamed up to win in first doubles 8-6 for the Broncos lone
doubles victory. On Friday, the Broncos hosted Pinkerton and lost 8-1 with Moparthi and Venuthurupalli picking up the only victory in number 1 doubles 8-4. “I am proud of the job the girls are doing,” said first year coach Betsy Oswalt. “For having no experience in competitive tennis, they are trying really hard.” The Broncos will host Bishop Guertin on Friday, April 27, and Timberlane on May 7.

and fuzzy as you were backing towards me and then drove around me while I was in the actual driving lane. The driver of the car you cut off when you made the right turn on red onto Derry Road probably wasn’t too happy with you either as he slammed on his brakes. I beg you to seek a remedial driving class or stop driving.”
