Nutritional Health Solutions Reneé Barasch,

Certified Digestive Health Specialist "Let’s get you feeling better."

P

oor digestion drives an array of health problems. Some are obvious, others more subtle. For those who have tried

traditional and holistic therapies with limited results, I have become the last stop. As I compassionately greet clients weary from pain and

suffering, I also offer a listening ear to ensure that I under- stand what they’ve experienced and endured. I use their information to paint a picture of how digestion works, and I show how a disruption in any of the key components of total nutrition (ingestion, digestion, absorption, elimination) impact the body’s ability to function optimally. During the course of our conversation, there are two

points I always stress. 1. When it comes to digestion and nutrition, there is no “one size fits all.” Digestion does not occur automatically, and correction of a problem requires more than just matching the right nutritional supplement to the symptom.

2. Without adequate digestion, optimal health is impossible.

To begin to create relief we review dietary preferences

and family history. We complete the Signs and Symptoms Assessment. I conduct a physical examination of digestive points (stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder) and recom- mend a 24-hour urinalysis to uncover hidden digestive imbalances. With this information I develop a personalized plan that provides the nutritional support that’s been missing. It is music to my ears when a client says “this just makes

sense.” In that moment, I know that I’ve succeeded in dem- onstrating the science that is at the heart of my practice. Our bodies are flowing systems, extremely capable of self-regulat- ing and self-healing—once the owner knows what tools and approaches work best. If you are experiencing chronic pain, heartburn, gas/

bloating, constipation, diarrhea, headaches, food cravings, fatigue, inability to feel satisfied after eating, or poor sleep, please contact me. We can identify causes and create relief.
