hen Mr. P. Lloyd and Mrs. Shirley M.

Gilford decided, as a gesture of their commit- ment to Hampton, to make life insurance policy gifts to the institution, they worked with their insurance agent to create individual policies in which they name the University owner and beneficiary. Mr. and Mrs. Gilford took out life protection plans in the amounts of $75,000 and $100,000 respectively. Their life insurance premium payments were set up in a way to make them tax deductable. This plan is one where their premium payments are made to Hampton as charitable contributions. Hamp- ton, in turn, draws a check payable to the insur- ance carrier and sends the premium payment to the insurance company.
