A

Bushey teenager who has only been playing basketball for a year has been selected for

the England squad. Dominic Scott-Robinson, 14, a pupil at Queen‘s

School, will now be playing for the Under 14 squad in a tournament in Scotland in June and in Slovenia in August. His mother, Jasmine, said Dominic was

identified by England scouts after he was invited to play for the county team Hertfordshire Warriors. She said: ―His PE teacher saw him play and

said he should consider playing it outside of school. Dom was identified as having the potential to play at county level. ―He had an email saying he‘d been selected to

play for Hertfordshire then he was invited for England trials. I‘m ecstatic for him. He takes it very seriously and it is the most important thing for him.‖ Dominic said selection for his country is still

sinking in for him. He revealed his dream is to move to America and play in the NBA. He plays point guard and said his hero is Derek Rose, who plays for the Chicago Bulls. He said: ―I‘m really shocked to be honest. At

first it didn‘t really hit me then a few days later it struck me. ―I‘ll be training for the two tournaments. In

five years time, I will hopefully be playing for the Great Britain under 20s team. ―That would be great. At the moment, I am

just happy and proud to be representing my country.‖
