“I referred to it as his mistress when
we were first together,” Marchand jokes, standing in the renovated home’s open kitchen. The house, where the two now
live together along with Marchand’s daughter, Alexis, would be meaningful simply because of the amount of work that was put into it. But this house has more significance than that to Todd and Marchand: it was actually the site of the couple’s first meeting, the details of which they bicker over good-naturedly (Todd contends that a mutual friend arranged for a blind meet-and-greet; Marchand maintains that she had no foreknowledge of the
