ANAHEIM DUCKS 2011-12 PROSPECT REPORT


2003)…his 10 SHG are the most by any WHL player since Pavel Brendl (Calgary) scored 10 in 1998-99…had a career-high and then-WHL season-high 19-game point streak (23-9=32) from Dec. 10-Feb. 15…also had a 17-game point streak (23-16=39) from Sept. 28-Nov. 5…twice posted an eight-game goal-scoring streak, from Oct.18-Nov. 5 (10-8=18) and Sept. 28-Oct. 12 (13-4=17)…led Medicine Hat in goals, assists, points, plus/minus (+29), SHG and co-led in PPG…was named the WHL Player of the Week on two occasions: Mar. 5-11 and Oct. 3-9.


- John Gibson led all OHL goaltenders in playoff SV% (.947) and ranked second among league leaders in GAA (2.34)…also ranked tied for second in playoff wins (8-3-1 record in 13 appearances) after backstopping Kitchener to the OHL confer- ence finals…Kitchener eliminated Owen Sound in the quarterfinals (4-1) and Plymouth in the semifinals (4-3)…was named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 1-1 record with a 1.00 GAA, .976 SV% and one shutout in the first two games of Kitchener’s semifinal series against Plymouth…in the regular season, led the CHL (OHL, QMJHL and WHL) in SV% (minimum 30 games) and ranked seventh in the OHL in GAA…led all OHL rookie goaltenders in SV%, GAA and wins…signed a three-year entry-level contract on Mar. 15.


-Rickard Rakell, upon elimination from the OHL playoffs, ranked tied for seventh in the league in playoff assists…led Plymouth in assists and ranked third in points.


- Igor Bobkov ranked second in the OHL in saves (1,839), and fourth in minutes (3,330) and games played…led Kingston in all major statistical categories for goaltenders…was assigned to the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) on Mar. 20.


- Andy Welinski co-leads all USHL defensemen in goals and GWG (4), while ranking tied for fourth in the league among blueliners…also ranked tied for third among all USHL players in plus/minus.

Notes: - Sami Vatanen ranked tied for second in goals among league defensemen in four SM-Liiga playoffs (2-0=2, +2)…suffered an ankle injury on Mar. 28 and is listed as out for the remainder of the season…ranked second among all SM-Liiga defensemen in goals and scoring with 14-28=42 points in 49 games…also ranked tied for second among league blueliners in PPG (6)...set career highs in goals and points (previously 11-20=31 points in 2010-11)…scored 6-13=19 points in 14 games after suffering a broken finger on Jan. 3 (missed 10 games due to the injury)…ended the regular season on a nine-game point streak (3-11=14, +8).


- William Karlsson ranked tied for fourth among all Allsvenskan (Sweden’s second division) skaters in assists and was tied for 11th in scoring with 12-33=45 points in 46 games…was named the best junior player in the Allsvenskan, earning Vasteras a 100,000 SEK monetary bonus towards youth hockey.


- Tim Heed led all Allsvenskan (Sweden’s second division) defensemen in assists and ranked second among blueliners in scoring with 4-26=30 points in 47 games.
