One artist’s original piece of art will be selected and transformed into an arts poster for the Canyon Sounds concert series and the 13th Annual Canyon Arts Festival on Jan. 26, 2013. The deadline to submit a piece is Sat., Sept. 15. Submissions may use the artist’s


choice of media, but must reflect the Canyon Sounds concert programs’ music, dance and drama; the Canyon Arts Festival with the colorful display of booths and people; and the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. Prepare submission copy for


presentation to the committee in a photographic format at least 8 by 10 inches. A website may


be referenced, but do not direct the committee there to see a particular piece. Send submissions to Canyon Rose Storage, Attn: Festival Poster Committee, 6405 S. Kings Ranch Rd., Gold Canyon, AZ 85118.


The committee may wish to view


the actual artwork as part of the judging process. Final selection is Sept. 29. For contact purposes, include the


artist’s name, address, phone and email. Individual artists may send three proposals for consideration. More information is available

Call for tour artists Area artists and Gold Canyon


and Apache Junction art studios are sought for the 5th Annual Artists Studio Tour Sat., Nov. 3 and Sun., Nov. 4. Artists of the Superstitions (AOS) will accept applications for the tour until Fri., Aug. 31. Interested artists must submit


photos of recent work and earn approval for participation. The AOS jury of artists and professionals will review applicants’ work and notify selected artists by Wed., Sept. 12.
