Cynthia Sayer also served as official banjoist for the New York Yankees, and this month the world-class banjoist joins the Arizona Classic Jazz Party. She plays from 1 to 4 p.m. Sun., May 20 at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort, 1 San Marcos Pl., Chandler. Sayer comes from New York to entertain as guest artist for the Arizona Classic Jazz Society (ACJS), appearing with Tucson musicians Kelland Thomas on soprano sax, Evan Dain on string bass and Ray Templin on drums. With a repertoire ranging from swing and hot jazz to tango, western and
classical, her artistry can be heard on many feature film and television soundtracks, commercials and radio jingles.
