Navarrete Nighthawks Fieldtrip fun – First-graders will take a fieldtrip to the Phoenix Zoo Wed., April 25. The students are looking forward to watching animal behaviors and seeing animals interact in their habitats. PTO elections – PTO elections are
around the corner. Joining the PTO is a great way to get involved in the Navarrete community. Science sensations – Navarrete
sent 21 students to AZSEF, the most students competing from the same elementary school, and every student came home with a medal. Tarwater Toros Building a future – The Home
Depot will visit Tarwater on April 27, giving children their own orange aprons and engaging them in a wood- building project. Thanks to the Home Depot for sponsoring this event for
more than 10 years. Dairy good – Second-graders had
the exciting opportunity to visit Shamrock Farms recently. The fieldtrip allowed them to see firsthand what they had learned in their Junior Achievement lessons, like how milk goes from farm to market. They also saw how the dairy operates and how well the cows are taken care of, and got to feed the calves and enjoy milk and ice cream. Class notes – Third-graders just
completed the AIMS test; congrats to all the students for putting forth their personal best effort. Mrs. Meyer’s class will present the play, “The Crowded House,” to the second-graders. The third-graders have worked very hard learning their lines and practicing each scene.

Chandler High Wolves High honors – Twelve of the 29 Chandler High students participating in the recent DECA state competition qualified for international competition in Salt Lake City, the third highest number of qualifiers in Arizona.
