Circus says hello to YO! Sushi
British Land has brought a slice of urban Tokyo to Drake Circus shopping centre in Plymouth with the opening of YO! Sushi. YO! Sushi, which has taken a 15-year lease, has created a 1,550-sq ft open restaurant in the heart of the mall, next to Marks & Spencer.
The news follows the
recent opening of a 2,100-sq ft Paperchase, only its second standalone store in the South West, and a new letting of a 1,500-sq ft unit to Costa.
Lauren Obbard, asset
manager for British Land, said: “YO! Sushi will be a fantastic draw to Drake Circus’ 19 million annual visitors. The contemporary space and strong tenant line-up continue to have an intrinsic appeal to leading retail and leisure operators.” Robin Rowland, chief
executive for YO! Sushi, added: “Celebrating 15 fantastic years on the restaurant scene, the opening of a new YO! Sushi restaurant in Plymouth provides
further confirmation of the UK public’s ever increasing demand for sushi. “Although already home to
thriving restaurant communities in and around the city, we have seen a further gap in the market, offering us the unique opportunity to cater to the demand for our unique mix of fun, fast and fresh Japanese food and cutting edge restaurant design.” Cushman and Wakefield and
Hartnell Taylor Cook acted for British Land.
