Celebrity chef
inspires mum’s party lifestyle
A
local mum is being kept busy in the kitchen by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.
Beth McDonald, 36, of Dickinson Square,
Croxley, started hosting ―Jamie at home‖ parties last October after the birth of her son. The parties promote the chef’s kitchen range
and help raise money for the Jamie Oliver Foundation – a charity which aims to educate and encourage people to make more informed food choices for a healthier lifestyle. The mother-of-two gave up her job as a
journalist for motherhood. She told My Croxley News: ―After the birth of my daughter I returned to work and at the same time my husband was made redundant. However he soon found another job and after the birth of my son, I found I couldn’t juggle work and motherhood, so I left. ―As much as I love being at home with the
children, when you're used to working in a busy office, the change can be very isolating and I was really keen to do something that would allow me
‘I love pottering around in the kitchen so the chance to get my hands on all those lovely products is a dream come true’
to be me for a while and not just a Mum, even if it was just for a couple of hours.‖ Beth came across the concept when she
received a press release about the Jamie at Home parties while working at a national newspaper. She said: ―It's not always been easy and I have
had to fit it around my family, but it has been completely worth it and my husband has been very supportive. ―I love pottering around in the kitchen so the
chance to get my hands on all those lovely products is a dream come true.‖ As well as raising money for the foundation,
Beth is earning herself. She added: ―It’s wonderful for me on a personal
level too. I've made some great friends and had some really good nights out as well. ―I'm enjoying it so much that I'm currently
working towards becoming a team leader and recruiting my own team. It truly is the best move and it’s all for a good cause too.‖ For more information contact Beth on 01923
