First aiders rise to the challenge

ocal youth groups came away triumphant after a first aid challenge last month.
Guides, scouts and cadets from Croxley Green,
Rickmansworth and Chorleywood visited the St John Ambulance headquarters for a morning of first aid training on Sunday, March 25, where they gained the St John Ambulance Basic First Aid certificate, a nationally recognised qualification that they will hold for three years. The afternoon included a series of challenges, a
quiz and an outdoors base where casualties were made up with fake injuries including someone choking, someone who had cut their hand, a man who had suffered a head injury and a girl who had grazed her knee. the First Aid section, the overall runners up were the 8th Rickmansworth Guides and the overall winners were ATC - 1280 Squadron. They received trophies from the Chairman of Three Rivers District Council Chris Whately-Smith. Caroline added: ―The teams had a fantastic day
