F

or the past several years we have been doing back-to-back Specialties in conjunction with

the Dallas/Ft. Worth Toy Club in September. In 2012 we are going to split them up again. We will be having our first Specialty in July with the Lone Star Cluster in Dallas, Texas. Our Breed judge will be Margo Klinger and Sweepstakes will be Monnie Bond. Our second Specialty will be in September in Mesquite, Texas along with the DFW Toy Shows. Breed judge will be Carmen Blankenship and Sweepstakes judge to be determined. Trophy donations are being accepted.

Our new slate of officers for 2012 is: President: Kim Swilling, Vice- President: Sheryl Baker, Treasurer: Ruth Tarlton and Secretary: Judith White.

We have couple of brags: GCH Flashfires Frozen Asset finished #6 Breed for 2011, Owned by Rocky and Kim Swilling. Emma Baldobino (to be new member) was #1 Junior Handler in min pins for 2011. She had 37 points with second place having 15 points and there were 10 juniors in competition. We are very proud of her. Looking forward to Nationals and we have five or six of our members planning on attending.

H

appy New Year to all and our Min Pins! As I write this, the entries for our Annual

February Specialties have not closed, so I don’t have any information on them yet, but we are looking forward to seeing everyone next month during the Westminster/Specialties celebration here in New York. I was able to be at the AKC/ Eukanuba Invitational last month and see the large group of wonderful min pins that were presented at the show. Congratulations to Best of Breed

Winner and Group Placer, GCH Marlex Classic Red Glare. We also want to congratulate our club members Kim and Tony Calvacca for their Best of Opposite Sex winner, CH Kimro N Spiva’s Super Trooper, and Best Bred By winner, GCH Kimro’s Dora The Explorer. Their Best Bred By, Dora, won the Bred By Toy Group and did a great job competing in BIS. EMPC of GNY is very proud! Our club membership is growing and we have been very active in the dog world. Club president, Vikki Oelerich, manned the “Meet the Breeds” booth at the NYC Javits Center again this year, with our princess, club member Lynzze Grispin. Our booth is always very active; the visitors love playing with our pins! Our members have been doing local “Meet the Breeds” activities in our area. Several club members have been active in earning agility titles on their min pins and we have been shining, as always, in the breed rings.
