Wellington & Telford The Wrekin’s Brightest Newspaper!

The success of the News spreads across Telford

Thank you to all our readers who complemented us on our March issue. You said it was very informative, you liked the new design and you all commented that it was a little thicker than normal. Well, we increased the pagination from 32 pages to 48 pages and our design studio have been busy giving the magazine a new look without moving too far away from the original design.

Wellington News continues to be very popular, not just in Wellington, but we have always had requests to in- crease the circulation to a wider audience. Good ex- amples of this are in Oaken- gates and Hadley and also part of Priorslee. Villages have also re- quested copies and resi- dents in Little Wenlock set up their own distribution net- work several years ago. We make a small contribution to the village church which has been used on several occa- sions to refurbish parts of its

infrastructure. More recently High Ercall have requested Wellington News which is now distributed from the lo- cal post office. Because of the demand we are today announcing a massive increase in our distribution network. We are all aware of the exciting new housing developments in Lawley, Hadley and the Humbers so these areas will from this issue be receiving Wellington News. We have also had re- quests from Muxton and Ketley Bank together with a

request to give better cover- age to Priorslee. To ensure as many peo- ple receive Wellington News as possible, every health centre in Telford will receive complimentary copies and we are putting 150 into the Princess Royal Hospital every month.

In total that amounts to 5047 extra copies of Wel- lington News that will be circulated, taking our total circulation across Telford to well over 33,000.

If you live in the new circulation areas and you

would like us to include reg- ular features on your area, please get in touch with our editor at: dave.gregory@pp- media.co.uk. Wellington News is the favourite newspaper in Wellington and we want to share it with as many peo- ple as possible. Most of our

reader’s letters cover all parts of Telford from Wrock- wardine Wood to Madeley and from Donnington to Wellington!

Our advertisers are lik- ing our new look and our increased circulation. Simon Gaston is in charge of ad- vertising and he has met

most of our regular advertis- ers and he is in talks with many more who can see the benefits of real local adver- tising. If you are interested in talking about your adver- tising requirements Simon can be contacted on: simon. gaston@ppmedia.co.uk or by calling 01952 415334.

Updated website now launched...

The Wellington News web- site has just undergone a to- tal makeover. Dave Gregory, editor of Wellington News said: “It is now at www. wellnewsonline.co.uk and is now vastly updated and im- proved. Due to several fac- tors the old website could not be updated so we decid- ed to go for a total makeover, with a bold, new design. “Not only are there up- dates of local news stories as they happen we can now include news videos and video interviews, too. And you can view the current print edition of the magazine on line as a special page turning version, too!” Dave went on to say: “We also have a special regularly

updated What’s On Section and other improvements which will help make the Wellington News website the “go to place” for news and other information for the Wel- lington News area.”

For the first time ever the website can now carry adverts. “This means that

advertisers can be seen 24 hours a day, seven days a week by people who use the Wellington News website for its regularly updated local news content.” The popular Wellington

News Twitter account (at wellingtonnews1) is also fea- tured on the website.

The regulars at the Plough in Wellington have quite a reputation when it comes to helping good causes. Last year they had a Fun Day in May and raised almost £7,000 for Help for Heroes. This year they are plan-

ning to go one better and with the generous support of T J Vicers who are support- ing their 50th Anniversary of selling cars, they have offered a Fiat Panda as the prize in their mammoth draw.
