How long have you been involved in FCA? I started about 3 years ago when the group was only about 20 people and met in the gym. Since then it’s grown to about 100 people every week and we meet at different locations every week.

How has FCA made an impact in your life on the field and off the field? FCA has allowed me to make a strong spiritual connection with my friends. We meet in prayer groups, and I feel like this brings us closer together in fellowship. It builds strong camaraderie that easily carries over to the hallways, locker rooms, and the field.

How has your beliefs helped you as an athlete? My faith has been a very important encouragement throughout my athletic career. I may not always be the best athlete on the field, but I know that I should never be afraid or discouraged because my God is always with me (Joshua 1:9). It has taught me to be thankful for my health and opportunities on and off the field. Perhaps the most important thing I have learned as a believer and athlete is that God does not call for mediocre effort. He has taught me how to pour all of myself into my faith, my family and friends, my studies, and my athletics without having any regrets.

What is your favorite bible verse and why? “I thank my God every time I remember you.” Philippians 1:3 I first heard this verse at a funeral for a friend that was taken too soon. At the time, it seemed like a very fitting verse. It wasn’t until I further reflected on it that, despite the loss of a good friend and person, I had so many things to be thankful for. It made me realize the blessings that I overlooked every day. I am so thankful for the people in my life and the memories that we’ve made. I’m also thankful that I got to know my friend that was taken too soon.
