Workmates on the run for charity Marcus Smith and his Camelot colleagues out training.

A

team of local workmates has signed up for Watford Round Table‘s charity fun run.

Staff from National Lottery operator Camelot,

based in Watford Business Park, have been training in Ebury Way in preparation for the Watford 10k. Camelot is the gold sponsor for Watford‘s

premier annual fun run. Run jointly by Watford Round Table and Wat-

ford Mencap, the event takes place in Cassio- bury Park on Monday, May 7, and hopes to at- tract 1,500 runners and many more spectators. Marcus Smith, a test analyst at Camelot Stra-

tegic Solutions who has been with Camelot for 14 years, is planning to run the Watford 10k with his two young sons, Owen aged seven, and

Cameron, aged nine. He‘s a fan of the course, saying ―It‘s a lovely

track at the time of year the run happens. All the bluebells are out and it‘s a great event in a worthy cause, as well as a good run.‖ The money raised from the event is split equal-

ly between Watford Round Table and Watford Mencap, though the latter‘s share will go direct- ly to the Children‘s Centre. Watford Mencap‘s funding manager Veronica

Chamberlain said: ―It‘s great to see Team Came- lot getting behind the 10k, for the fourth year running. Every pound that we raise helps local people in need.‖ For more information about the event visit www.watford10k.org.uk.
