members of a Quail Creek neighborhood Bible study group departed in a three car caravan bound for Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point) on a mini-mission trip arranged by Skip and Julie Pence. The four hour drive was full of spectacular scenery and joyful fellowship, and included a short picnic lunch stop at Organ Pipe National Monument. The group arrived at

Esperanza por los Ninos (Hope for the Children) a Christian home for children who had been removed from their parental homes for various reasons. The facility is home to about 40 children ages 5 to 18 and is run by two couples who live on site with their own children. Civic Orchestra of Tucson to perform Spring Pops concert at Quail Creek

For the third year, the Civic Orchestra of
Tucson will perform its popular Spring Pops Concert at Quail Creek, sponsored by the Quail Creek Activities Committee. The 60-member orchestra will perform in the Crystal Ballroom at the Madera Club House from 3–5 p.m. on Sunday, April 29. Tickets are $15. The Larry Redhouse Jazz Trio will play in the Copper Lounge before the concert, beginning at 1:45 pm. This Pops concert is fi lled with big band sounds, show tunes, and other popular melodies
that will get your feet tapping and leave you
humming all the way home. The program also features two winners of the orchestra’s 2012 Young Artists’ Competition performing their solos with the orchestra. Ly Pham will play the fi rst movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A, and Keoni Bolding, violin, will perform Chaconne in G by Vitali. Seating will be
at round tables of ten
seats each. A cash bar will add to the relaxed atmosphere of the afternoon. Tickets can be
purchased for $15 at the Quail Creek Concierge Desk and also at the Green Valley-Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce, until sold out. So,
