BIKER’S CORNER Welcome to our biker section of Take Off magazine
The biking community are huge supporters of the charity. Sadly nearly 50% of the missions we attend are Road Traffi c Collisions, and bikers, as motorists, are some of the most vulnerable drivers on the road. This page is dedicated to bikers and covers latest news and upcoming events so read on and fi nd out how you can get involved!
Bike4Life Summer Run - 1st July 2012
The charity’s biggest annual fundraiser is now a biker event - Bike4Life 2012.
This is the event of the year and one not to be missed! Our third annual ride out will start at the Birmingham Bees RFC Training Ground (home of the Boring Old Fartz MC) which is just off Junction 3 of the M42 and will ride out to the RAF Museum at Cosford.
Taking in some of the best biking routes in the West Midlands and Shropshire, the ride out is free to enter and riders
will simply be asked for a donation of choice on the
day. A family fun day is organised for the end point and with a rock band, fun fair and BBQ planned, this will be a summer party to remember.
Once registered you will receive a confi rmation email with full details. On the day of the event you will be issued with the route map and a tag for your bike to confi rm your place. Registration is now open! To sign up sign up visit:

Motorcycle CRASH card success!
The CRASH card scheme created by The Ambulance Motorcycle Club was launched in 2009 and over 360,000 CRASH Cards have since been produced, providing those fi rst on the scene of an accident with vital medical information about the victim.
Midlands Air Ambulance have been supporters of the life saving initiative from its earliest days and over the last 12 months, MAA has distributed nearly 30,000 cards to the biking community, completely free of charge. A small green dot placed at the side of the visor on a helmet, enables those fi rst on the scene to identify that an unconscious or seriously ill rider has a card in their helmet. This card lets medics know their name, date of birth and any medication they may take.
Correct post-crash care is vitally important and this scheme is a great help to those who deliver fi rst response help at a crash scene. If you or your group would like CRASH cards please email
info@midlandsairambulance.com
