21K AT 21APPEAL
To celebrate 21 years, Midlands Air Ambulance has set itself a challenge to recruit 21,000 new regular donors to secure the next 21 years of life saving missions.
The charity has teamed up with Unity 4, to assist in managing the campaign. The team headed up by Steve Morris are based in Shropshire and have vast experience in working with Care Flight (Australian Air Ambulance). Jason Levy, Fundraising Director said, “Since MAAC started working up with Unity4 we have seen a fantastic response to the 21 Appeal. Many of our existing donors were contacted as well as new supporters, we now have nearly 1000 regular givers signed up, each donating between £5 and £10 per month to support our life saving work. It’s probably a tall order to get 21,000 new donors by the end of the year but we’re just so overwhelmed with the response from the public.”
In addition to the work of Unity4 a new online direct debit facility was launched on the MAA website, where supporters can now very simply set up in a few easy steps a regular giving scheme.
The ‘21k at 21’ appeal has so far been a huge success but the charity is still looking for new donors to sign up to a regular giving platform to help continue funding the three air ambulances that operate across the region.
Chief Executive, Hanna Sebright, said; “We know that the public really value the service and will support us as we look to sign up 21,000 regular donors this year. Regular giving – at just £5 a month, or whatever you can afford – from our target of new donors would be a signifi cant contribution towards the £6 million a year we need to run one of the country’s busiest air ambulance services.” If you wish to sign up for regular giving please contact the offi ce or visit our website for more information.
