STRETCHING FOR FLEXIBILITY FITNESS

Stretching is a form of exercise that increases flexibility, helps to main- tain good posture and improves general coordination—it should play an important role in all activities from bike riding with the kids to running a marathon. To reduce chance of muscle injury, stretch before and after exercising.

Gentle stretching helps to relax the muscles and improve joint mobility. It also can prepare your muscles for more intense physical activity and it helps to cool muscles to their original state afterwards. Stretching can help improve blood circulation as it relieves tension in the muscles that tend to impair circulation, and can help with arthri- tis by keeping the muscles in your fingers, neck, shoulders and hips flexible. It also aids conditions such as sciatica, where the muscles and nerves in your lower back become tense due to prolonged sitting.

SIMPLE STRETCHES TO IMPROVE YOUR FLEXIBILITY: •

Standing in a corner, facing the walls, place one hand on each wall at chin level. Lean forward until you feel the stretch in your chest and shoulder muscles. Hold the stretch, then relax.

• Do standing side bends by leaning slowly to one side until you feel the abdominal muscles stretching. Hold, relax and then bend to the other side.

• Sitting on the floor, extend one leg while bending the other and

place the foot towards the inner thigh. Keep the extended knee straight until you feel the stretch in your hamstring. Hold, relax and then repeat with your other leg.

Whether you are looking to just stay in shape or help alleviate pain due to a physical condition, make stretching part of your regular fit- ness routine—it really will improve your ability to train harder and exercise longer.

WHAT IS A COLONIC? A colonic is the process of using filtered water to wash out the large bowel. Water is allowed to flow in—under gentle pressure—to cleanse the colon of harmful bacteria and toxic waste. Te colon is alternately filled with water and then emptied, thereby promoting proper peristaltic action. Varying the water tempera- ture from warm to cool serves to increase the cleansing action and strengthens the muscular walls, which high salt levels and acids may have weakened. Te waste is discharged through a plastic observation tube. You can expect your colonic to be a gentle and safe procedure—and a regular series of colon- ics can facilitate improved colon function and general all-round health.

WHY HAVE A COLONIC? Colonics improve circulation by increasing the absorption of water through the large intestine, which helps to bathe cells, flush toxins and cleanse the kidneys and skin as well as the bowel. Colonics also help to eliminate the poisons resulting from putrefaction from the colon and

large intestines and allow healthy bacteria to flourish again.

A series of colon irrigation treatments may

increase your colon’s tone and function while removing excessive mucous, abnormal bacteria and parasites. GMO and hybridized foods, hard- ened fats, caffeine, stress, antibiotics and chronic dehydration all contribute to increased toxicity loads, constipation and bowel disorders.

BENEFITS •

Improved bowel muscle tone

• Better digestion and assimilation

• Better memory •

Clearer skin

• More youthful energy

Increased renewal and anti-aging capabilities

• New sense of lightness and clarity
