They say that an apple never falls far from a tree, and one child who is following in his father’s footsteps by being a blessing to others is 13-year-old Darius Smith, the son of well-known gospel DJ, Gary Smith, who used to host a show on BBC Oxford, and who now hosts a mid-morning show on local radio station, OX105FM.
Darius, a pupil at Cooper School in Bicester, has proven that age is no barrier to anything by publishing his first book, Victory for U, a book of poems which he hopes will inspire the young and the old.
Gary and his wife,Yvonne, said they are very proud of their son. Gary stated, “He has always shown signs of creativity from an early age, and he has our full support in his endeavours.” Victory for U is the first in a series of books Darius hopes to publish.

Up to 500 Christians from across the country were present at the official opening of Potter’s House Christian Church in Croydon, a thriving Pentecostal church.
One of the special guests was Graham Bass, the Mayor of Croydon, who partnered with Clement Okusi, senior Pastor of Potter’s House, in cutting the ribbon and declaring the church officially opened.
Potter’s House has been based in Croydon for 11 years, and is well known in the area for sharing the Gospel to all, and for being involved in good works, which includes working with gangs, the homeless, as well as helping people to get out of debt.
