I'm all set for Wimbeldon this summer, thanks to Aly Findlay (pictured) and the Committee at Craigmillar Park Tennis Club. I popped along to their
Open Day last month to check out the facilities. Sadly, my "tennis" elbow got the better of me on this occasion. The Club are really
pushing for new members in the run up to the Summer, with special rates for newcomers. Aly explained that no matter your ability, all are welcome to join. I expect we'll no doubt
hear "Game, set and match" this summer on the courts (not for me
though...that'll be my namesake Andy!) For further info, visit

Residents may have heard that a community wildlife garden is to be built in the Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill Local Nature Reserve. Due to £50,000 in Heritage Lottery
funding, the Council's Countryside Ranger Service will create the wildlife garden. It will provide native habitats for
bumblebees, moths and butterflies. The Countryside Ranger Service will
also offer wildlife identification training to help record insects in the area. Thanks to the Friends of the
Hermitage of Braid who have worked closely with the Ranger Service on this and many other environmental projects.
