Spoon benefits from the Securities Lending Industry Awards dinner The second annual Securities Lending Industry Awards dinner was held in November at the prestigious Grange City Hotel, London. The event is the brain-child of Spoon Ambassador, Mark Latham, chairman of 2i Media who said, “Securities Lending is a financial transaction between the securities lender (a pension fund) and a short seller (a hedge fund) and as such ensures efficient markets and benefits pension funds. The big winners of 2011 were Northern Trust as Global Lender of the Year. The securities lending industry also had the opportunity to do some good and we were delighted to support Wooden Spoon once again. I am delighted that we were able to raise over £6,000 for Spoon and look forward to working with the Spoon team for the 2012 event.”
