FREE COMPOST MATERIAL The Department of Public Works and the Parks Department are offering free compost material to Springfield residents. The material, which is made from the composted leaf and yard waste collected by the DPW, will be available for pick-up beginning April 9 at Blunt Park parking lot next to the shed every day from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. until supply is depleted.


COLLEGE CLUB LUNCHEON The College Club of Springfield will host its annual spring luncheon on April 14 at the Longmeadow Country Club. Guest speaker will be Eleanor Spring, who will discuss “Women Helping Women.” This year’s scholarship recipient and two book award winners will be announced at the meeting.
