Childsplay celebrates 35 years


After more than 200 plays and 4 million audience members, Childsplay, one of the top theatre companies for youth, celebrates its 35th year with a birthday bash at 6 p.m. Fri., April 27 at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Pkwy., Tempe. Adult partygoers will be


treated to an evening of food, beverages, live entertainment by ASU’s Dixie Devils, a silent auction, games of skill and birthday cake. Childsplay will also raffle three U.S. Airways gift cards of $200, $500 and $1,000 values, with ticket, raffle and auction proceeds supporting Childsplay’s Arts-in-Education programs, which serves nearly a quarter million school children each year.
