FLOWER POWER: The Weeders Garden Club, whose members come from Sun Lakes, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek and Scottsdale, frequently visit Chandler’s historical McCroskey Farmhouse armed with garden gloves, trowels, clippers, rakes and plastic bags. The women gather for plantings around the bungalow. Currently, the perimeter is softened by iris, hollyhocks, daisies and banks roses. Any hopeful weeds are quickly dispatched by the Weeders. Many of the club’s members have trained to advise visiting groups in bungalow activities such as candle making, garden walks and sewing.
